WELCOME:
I am legally known as Heather Nelson, evolving to become Heather Nels Olson and often go by H. I currently live in Chicago and moved here soon after graduating from Kent State University in 2005 with a B.F.A. in Textile Arts.
The work that you will see on this site comes from an effort to make the process of creating art a reality in my everyday life, keep connected to and communicate with a friend and a desire to read the Holy Bible. Each postcard is approximately 6x4 inches and made from recycled cardboard and other found material. They are sent to my friend, Jeff Pasek, who is a painter in Northeast Ohio. This ongoing body of work is an experiment in setting up a system to work, using systems already established and developing my visual voice as I experience and learn new information. I am inspired by folklore, the passing of information, science, repetitive processes, history, emotion, food systems, ghosts/unexplained energies and things beyond my comprehension. If you have any comments or questions please feel free to contact me.
Thank you for visiting!
